Milestones

2009

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and PromiseShip, then Nebraska Families Collaborative, sign implementation contract with full transition of one-third of children and families in the child welfare system of Douglas and Sarpy Counties on January 1, 2010.

2010

Nebraska Families Collaborative assumed service coordination of child welfare and juvenile justice in Douglas and Sarpy counties.

2011

DHHS and Nebraska Families Collaborative amend contract to transfer case management responsibilities to Nebraska Families Collaborative.

The Nebraska Families Collaborative Community Advisory Board was founded.

2012

Nebraska Families Collaborative begins serving all of the children and families in the child welfare system residing within Douglas and Sarpy Counties (Approximately 46% of the child welfare population in Nebraska).

Nebraska Families Collaborative became nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA) for the first time.

2013

Nebraska Families Collaborative added community representative to the Board of Directors. Nebraska Families Collaborative employees spearheaded the Duffels 4 Dignity program.

Transfer of JJ to probation LB 561 was passed and all youth transferred responsibility to Office of Probation Administration.

2014

Nebraska Families Collaborative established Community Advisory Committees.

Douglas and Sarpy counties were meeting 4 of 6 Children and Family Services Reviews (CFSR) measures.

2015

Douglas and Sarpy counties met all Round 2 Child and Family Service Review measures for the first time in the Eastern Service Area history.

92% of youth served by Nebrsaka Families Collaborative were discharged to permanency.

91.2% of youth served by Nebrsaka Families Collaborative were placed in family-based care.

2017

Nebraska Families Collaborative receives reaccreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA) as a case management and network provider.

Nebraska Families Collaborative meets 100% caseload ratio for Family Permanency staff.

2018

Nebraska Families Collaborative rebrands as PromiseShip.
